EASTON, MARYLAND — Talbot Hospice’s October calendar lists free grief support groups at 586 Cynwood Drive in Easton. The hospice says its sessions are open to the public whether or not a loved one was served by Talbot Hospice, and regardless of county of residence. There is never a charge for any of its support groups.

The Writing About Grief and Loss group meets Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. It is an open group, and the event listing says participants share memories and reflect on their feelings through journaling, poetry and storytelling; it is not about perfect grammar or style. The Child Loss Support Group, for parents who have experienced the death of a child of any age, meets Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 7 to 8 p.m. The open Monthly Grief Support Group, for anyone who has experienced the death of a loved one, meets Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 5 to 6 p.m.

Healing Through Yoga, a chair yoga class for anyone grieving the death of a loved one, meets Tuesdays from 8:45 to 9:30 a.m. at the same address, with Beth Hobson facilitating; October dates on the calendar are Oct. 13, 20 and 27. A six-week Loss of a Loved One group that began Sept. 30 meets Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to noon and requires registration.

The child-loss group skips June and December. Talbot Hospice also offers counseling by appointment for individuals and families before or after a death, and works with public and private schools in Talbot County on grief support for children and teens; families can start with a school guidance counselor or the hospice’s Grief Support Center.
