Downtown Easton's First Friday Gallery Walk is set for Sept. 4 from 5 to 7 p.m., the next date in the monthly series that runs April through December. It remains one of the county's lowest-cost arts nights: walk Harrison and Dover, step into rooms that stay open after supper, and meet the people who hung the work.
The Avalon Theatre at 40 East Dover Street anchors the same block and is the largest nonprofit arts organization in town — film, music, and stage under one roof. A short walk away, the Academy Art Museum currently shows "Under the Mexican Sky" (through Oct. 11) and Julie Wills's "The Bitter Pains" (through Nov. 8). The Plein Air competition gallery was a short public hang after judging on July 18–19, not a show running through November.
First Friday is not a wristband festival. It is the working circuit for painters, dealers, and anyone who wants to see what Talbot is making without waiting for Plein Air week. The Patriot will list specific hangings as galleries post them. Bring walking shoes. Most rooms are free.
