EASTON, MARYLAND — Children can meet live turtles at the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library on Wednesday, Oct. 21, when Pickering Creek brings its animals and naturalists to the library lobby.

The drop-in visit runs from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Pickering Creek staff members and junior naturalists will share what they know about turtles, according to the library's event listing, which lists the program for children and teens and calls it fun for all ages. No registration is listed.

Earlier that day, the library offers a sensory-friendly story time from 9:30 to 10 a.m. in the Children's Room. The session is designed for young children with sensory needs or those who may find large groups challenging, the library says, and uses a small-group setting with interactive storytelling, gentle music, movement activities and sensory play.

The story time is for children up to age 5. Registration is limited and required, and closes at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 21. Register on the library's event page.

Both programs are at the Easton library, 100 W. Dover St. The library's contact for both is Laura Powell, (410) 822-1626.
