EASTON, MARYLAND — Choptank Community Health System has put another family nurse practitioner on the Easton Health Center schedule, expanding the provider roster patients can book against in Talbot County.
Adena Tufts, DNP, has joined Choptank as a family nurse practitioner at the Easton Health Center, the system said in an Oct. 2 announcement. The Talbot County Chamber of Commerce carried the same hire as a press release dated Oct. 5. Tufts’ background, per Choptank, includes pediatric critical care, adult nursing, outpatient work, and public health.
“Expanding access begins with having providers available where patients need care,” Sara Rich, president and CEO of Choptank Community Health System, said in the announcement. “Adena brings a broad nursing background and a strong understanding of the challenges people can face in getting care and managing their health.”
Tufts earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice with a family nurse practitioner specialty from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, Choptank said. She also holds a master’s in public health from American Military University and a bachelor’s in nursing from the University of Akron. Clinical training listed in the release covers primary care, urgent care, women’s health, and pediatric care.
Choptank Community Health System provides medical, dental, behavioral health, and school-based health services in Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s, and Talbot counties, serving nearly 35,000 adults and children across Maryland’s Mid-Shore. New patients are welcome at all locations, the system said. More information is at ChoptankHealth.org.
