WYE MILLS, MARYLAND — Chesapeake College is holding two free virtual sessions Wednesday, Oct. 21, for people thinking about health care jobs.
The Health Careers Orientation runs from 10 to 11 a.m., according to the college's event page. Questions go to the college's Noncredit Healthcare office at 410-827-5917 or cehealthcare [at] chesapeake.edu. The orientation covers four programs: Phlebotomy Technician, Clinical Medical Assistant, Dental Assistant and Sterile Processing Technician. The college's event page says health care is one of the fastest growing occupations in Maryland.
The college asks people choosing an orientation date to pick the earliest one possible, because the orientation should be the first step in admission and there are several steps to finish before acceptance into a program. Orientations for Certified Nursing Assistant and Certified Medicine Aide are listed separately on the college's event calendar.
The Physical Therapist Assistant info session runs from 5 to 6 p.m. on Zoom. No registration is needed. The join button and passcode are on the event page.
For a Talbot County student or career changer, that's two chances on one day to start without leaving home.
