EASTON, MARYLAND — Voters who want to hear from Talbot County's school board candidates before they cast ballots can see them on one stage at a free town hall Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the Avalon Theatre in Easton.

Four Board of Education seats, Districts 1, 3, 4 and 7, are on the Nov. 3 general election ballot, according to the Talbot County Board of Elections.

The Talbot Spy and the Avalon Foundation are hosting the Board of Education candidates town hall. The Avalon says it will give voters a chance to hear directly from candidates about their priorities for public education and how they would approach serving on the board.

The program includes questions for the candidates, moderated discussion and two-minute closing statements. There will be no audience question-and-answer portion because of time limits and the number of candidates, the Avalon's listing says. The Spy's Craig Fuller, a former Cabinet affairs aide to President Ronald Reagan and chief of staff to Vice President George H. W. Bush, will moderate.

The town hall will be recorded for later viewing on the Talbot Spy website and broadcast on MCTV.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the program begins at 6 p.m. at the theater, 40 E. Dover Street. Admission is free and open to the public. Early voting starts the next day, Thursday, Oct. 22, and runs through Oct. 29 at the Easton Volunteer Fire Department Bingo Hall.
