BALTIMORE, MARYLAND — Talbot County drivers crossing the Bay Bridge at night next week may find the eastbound span closed and two-way traffic running on the westbound span, according to the Maryland Transportation Authority's lane-closure schedule for Oct. 25 through 31.

The schedule says the eastbound span may be closed Sunday from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning; Monday through Wednesday from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.; Thursday from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.; Friday from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.; and Saturday from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. The authority lists the work as preservation and maintenance and ties the nighttime closures to the eastbound bridge deck replacement project.

During full eastbound closures, two-way traffic will run on the westbound span, the authority says.

In the daytime, one lane of the westbound span may be closed Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon.

All work is weather permitting, and the authority says closures can change depending on traffic volumes and other factors. Headlights are required at all times on the bridge. Tolling is all-electronic; trips not paid with E-ZPass or Pay-By-Plate are billed at video toll rates. Real-time conditions are posted at Baybridge.com.
